SALGGLAS Zrt.

Factory history

Salgglas (ZRt.) -securing over 110-year old experience and tradition - has been operating in its current form since 1996.

The production of glass panes started in 1893 here, in the first glass factory of Hungary.
In addition to traditional drawn plate-glass production - through significant development - over the past decades, the company introduced modern safety glass production in Salgótarján.

The strategy of the company is to meet large added-value, high level of processing and special market niche demands.

At present, Salgglas ZRt.:
Manufactures tempered and glued safety glass for primary and secondary installation, for different passenger vehicles, as well as agricultural and industrial utility vehicles; furthermore, it produces special glued safety glass that represent hurl-proof, fracture-proof and bullet-proof glass structures.

The modernisation carried out continuously since 2002 - the new production hall, new production lines, glass-manufacturing sanding, drilling and cutting equipment - make the application of world-leading technologies possible.

These investments - the main objective of which was the transfer to intermediate-series production of auto-industrial glass - established the conditions for SALGGLAS to meet the new European vehicle-development trends, e.g. the production of the ""construction.

We are manufacturing the tempered side-glass of Volkswagen T5 utility vehicle and SLW city minibus in the "glass in glass" construction

Following the strategy of "having our eggs in several baskets", Salgglas ZRt. has established connections with an increasing number of partners, including Czech and Belo-Russian tractor manufacturers, as well as European companies manufacturing the cabins of power machines and machinery.

By now, the trade mark Salgglas has become known in almost all areas of the world. The dynamic growth of SALGGLAS, its technological rejuvenation, the enduring marketing work and reliability all provided foundation for further cooperation on the basis of which an increasingly nearing goal is:
Through the demand of continuous rejuvenation, to become a dominant auto-industrial glass manufacturer of Central Europe.
